There is something very special about photographing multi-generational families.  There are so many wonderful dynamics going on between mother & child, grandmother & child and spouse-to-spouse.  I really enjoy watching how these relationships unfold.

My beach sessions, which last about an hour, enable me the smallest glimpse into the dynamics within each family I photograph.  The inter-workings of each family is always so different.  Maybe one child listens, while the other is unruly. Maybe the mother lays down the law, while the dad is a softy.  All of these characteristics makes each family special or different, but what I usually look for is how families have fun with each other. Do they run around and play on the beach together?  Or are they more reserved, maybe making quiet jokes throughout the session.  These little moments, when the family is interacting with one another, like I’m not there, is what I hope to capture during our time together.  I want my client’s to come into their review session and really “see” themselves in the photos.
