Last Friday night, I spent over two hours photographing this super fun and outgoing senior all over Naples.  I am 6′ tall and it’s not often that I meet women who are taller than me…well let me introduce you to Amy.  Talk about a tall drink of water!  Her mom said that she never gets to wear heels because of her height so they thought it would be fun to bring some crazy high stilettos to the shoot…I needed a step-stool to try and get eye level with her!

After Bayfront, we went to Amy’s family home and did some shots in their garden which was truly so amazing.  I could have spent all 2 hours just at their house there were so many great spots to use.  Even though 2 hours sounds like a long time, we were racing against the sun by the time we arrived to her family home so while Amy was changing, I was doing some metering in the garden and looking for where the best place would be to set up my shot.  The first shot you see is of Sydney, my new intern, who was assisting me on the shoot.  My lighting was a little off.  I was looking for a much softer look in these gardens and I didn’t like how my model was positioned right in front of the tree.  When Amy came out, I adjusted my position in order to off-set Amy from the tree, opened up to let some more light in and zoomed in on her creating this beautiful and soft image.  This photo of Amy at her family house might just be my favorite from the whole day!

Amy is from the mid-west and she wanted her senior photos to be completely different than everyone else from her hometown, so beach shots were really important for her.  Here is a shot that my intern, Sydney, took of me while I was photographing Amy at sunset.  This gives you a good feel of what the overall scene looked like and then you can scroll down to see what I “saw”.
