This is the maternity shoot I photographed last week. Maternity work is among my favorite to photograph because I am given the opportunity to capture such a small window of a woman’s life. There is always a wonderful energy when on a maternity shoot. When I am able to capture my client’s growing belly as well as her personality, those are the images I am always most pleased with. My favorite from this session would be Carla in the blue sarong with the banyan tree. The photo shows me strength but exudes a tremendous amount of warmth as well. I also love the photo of Carla’s belly with her son Liam. Liam was so shy and hesitant the day of the shoot and even though Carla’s face is not photographed, you can tell from this photo how protective she is being of him. Her hand around his little face is acting like a shield.
