I am always surprised by the amount of beauty that surrounds us here in Naples.  I work on the beach so often, that it’s really refreshing and fun to get insprired in another beautiful location.  We spent over 2 hours photographing on this golf course, and hardly knew we had spent that much time out there until the sun went down and we were driving back to the club house in the dark.  These sweet sisters were great sports about climbing and manuvering ‘into the light’ for their images.  For me, it’s all about the Golden Hour light before sunset.  Where the light is rich and warm.  And not so bright that everyone has squinty eyes.  That’s the time of day that I simply love and often times is what makes my images what they are.

I am very particular about what time of day I photograph here in Florida.  Of course, I can’t always have it my way, but when I can dictate it, I do, because it makes ALL the difference.  The light varies depending on what part of the country or world you live in.  By photographing at the start or end of the day, I am only enhancing the overall look of the images I take because I know that the light is going to be beautiful.  Try it out yourself.  Take 5 photos throughout the day: sunrise, noon, 3PM, 30 minutes before sunset and 30 minutes after sunset and see how the light changes in your part of the world.  What do you see in terms of color when you photography at different times of day?  Is the light cool or warm?  Soft or hard?  What time of day do you like to shoot?  Maybe you like the high contrast of mid-day light.  There is really no right or wrong, but all personal preference.  I’d love to see what you come up with, so post whatever you take to Facebook and tag me so I can what you come up with.  Happy Shooting!
